PopUpFlorist breaks through in the world of floral design with a fun, quirky, and unpretentious edge. Founded in January 2016, Kelsie created POPUPFLORIST from the concept of offering weekend and holiday popups at her favorite retailers, coffee shops, and restaurants. Kelsie’s thoughtful creations were quickly embraced and her whimsy touches took off. Shoppers fell in love with the googly eyes in the mini succulents, original stamp messages, chic and vibrant hand-painted pots, and silk neck scarves that double as bouquet ties in exclusive prints that Kelsie designed herself. Adding a modern twist to plant and flower arrangements, Kelsie uses unexpected textures and unique color palettes, inspired by her background as a fashion designer. Graduating in 2009 from The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, Kelsie went on to develop a signature collection for the BECKLEY boutique in Los Angeles, living bi-coastally for the last six years. In July 2016, Kelsie opened her first shop at The Ganesvoort Market, 353 W. 14th Street. Inviting and eye-catching, Kelsie keeps an open environment so customers and passerby’s can watch her process and see the materials. Kelsie treats the shop’s back wall as her window display featuring a hand strung installation of silk flowers. Her attention to detail and creativity has already attracted clients including The Whitney Museum, Soho House, Ouai, Black Frame PR, Invite Only NYC, Alice and Olivia, and Eva Chen.
